I play at a very easy course that is near by my house. It’s great for playing with my kids and easily accessible before/after work for a quick round. It’s a 9 hole course: par 35 2671 yard 32.7/99. I’m a 12 handicap, but I regularly shoot close to par on this course. I’m not submitting these scores for 2 reasons 1) I think it will artificially lower my handicap, 2) I’ll be ridiculed by my weekend golf buds if they see those scores posted from such an easy course. I hope I’m not breaking the rules, but I think of these rounds as "practice" rounds. Is what I’m doing OK? Thanks.
Thanks for the early responses! For the record, I am aware that slope ratings are specifically designated to adjusting for course difficulty, but the rating on this course, as low as it is, still seems too high.
Also, I am not selectively posting. I simply never post a score played on this course period regardless of how good or bad the score is.
I’m thinking I should just start posting these scores and let the chips fall. If my handicap get artificially low and I can’t compete on a real course anymore, I’ll just stop playing on that course.
Thanks again!
Thanks for the input everyone. I really appreciate it. I may be ignorant of the rules, but I’m not a cheat. I’ll be posting scores from this and any slope rated course I play.
Cheers!
You MUST post every score. There is nothing "artificial" about what may happen to your index if you just happen to tear this course a new one. I’d be more concered about your friends calling you a sandbagger when they have to give you strokes that you don’t deserve.
By the way–Matt , Golf pro and handicap chairman? How stupid do you think we are?
