To store for winter, make sure battery is clean and full, leave in cart or place on a shelf, where it wont freeze if you are in a cold climate, connect a low amp battery maintainer "trickle charger". You can find these rather inexpensively at wal mart or any good auto parts store. make sure you choose one that is fully automatic to prevent over charging which will cook or ruin the battery, and preferably no more than 1 amp charge rate.
