Too good for a beginner! I know it is embarrassing, but, you need to run down to Wal-mart, K-mart, or "Joe's discount emporium" lol. Grab a low priced cavity back model. One of those all-in-one bags and then go whacking away at the balls. The point I'm trying to make is that in this economy golf isn't for everyone. You just may "HATE" it! If you get a cheap bag, they will hold up until you make that crucial decision of, do I continue to golf or create more garage sale fodder?
References :
Slazenger is okay; very big brand in Europe. I recommend going on-line or to a good golf equipment retailer (Golfsmith, Edwin Watts, Golf Galaxy) and purchasing a complete set. There are excellent matched sets by Wilson, Adams, and others that include everything. For about $300-400, you can buy a complete set of woods and irons, with a bag. They are not top-of-the-line clubs, but adequate for a beginner to use for learning. If you decide after a year or two that you enjoy the game, plan to continue playing and want to upgrade, sell your beginner clubs and invest in a better set. If you give it up and decide it isn't for you, you haven't invested a ton of money.
